SMS Use Up 37.7% |

Handset users sent out 328.4 billion text messages between January and July 2007, an increase of 37.7 percent year-on-year, reports Information Times citing China's Ministry of Information Industry (MII) statistics released on August 21. China had 508 million handset users (including PHS users) and 372 million fixed-line phone users at the end of July, according to the report. The handset penetration rate is 38.3 percent in China, according to MII data.
